I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

The danger zone

When Stumpy and I head out for our walks we are careful to stay out of the danger zone.

The danger zone is any place that is NOT graded road. The roads are generally clear of thorns, thistles and cacti. When you enter the danger zone you are bound to be attacked by things that stick, prick, bite and otherwise cause pain.

The Berner has no fear of the danger zone and heads right into it

Stumpy watches that crazy Berner head into the desert

On the edge. Is it worth it?

Alfy tip toes through the danger zone

"No way! I'm not going there!"

"Ow! Ee! Ouch! Oooo! Ow! Whose idea was this?"

Alfy tip toes, innocently, out of the danger zone

I like your thinking, Stumpy.. I'd stay out of the danger zone, too. As we found out the woods is our danger zone right now - venture off trail and you pick up some icky ticks...

Great catch with that 4th picture, side by side. Alert to any dangers!

Is Berner part of your family now? Or would you still send him off if you found a home for him? He is such a pretty guy, as is Stumpy!

Live and learn - too bad it has to be a painful lesson. So funny how two pups can be so different.

Tula, sssshhh! Stumpy is VERY upset about that Stella dog. who by the way looks just like Stumpy? Coincidence? I think not!

Sam , ticks are one of the things we don't miss!

Dogsmom, it's a fluke! for every decent one there's probably 30 that get trashed! thanks, though.

Stella, sadly there is no way for me to keep the Berner boy. He's looking for his happily-ever-after home. We'll deliver! Just tell me when!

Sandra, I have been trying to video a few of her dance steps, but she won't cooperate!

Khyra, Merdie and the mom, ain't that the truth?

OP Pack, these two are like night and day.

Heelers, I knew Louie liked the hose but I didn't realize you were all fans!

Berner has obviously got some tracking skills ;-)

I guess it's all about where you come from. Didn't Berner just sort of appear mysteriously from the desert? I guess Stumpy has soft, aristocratic sort of feeties. ;)

Wizz, with tough pads on his paws to match

LWD, Stumpy much prefers grass under her feet, just like me.
