I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Nosy Neighbor

Stumpy IS one!

The trashy trailer next door has been (thankfully) vacant for over a year. Two weeks ago we noticed some activity and before long we had new neighbors.

Stumpy insists, that although she doesn't go over there, it is part of her kingdom. She wasn't happy and let the interlopers know it every time she saw them. Not being very brave, she preferred to let her opinion be known from the deck.

Since her return from boot camp, Stumpy has been on her best behavior. There are only few things that will tempt her to leave her yard: chasing a coyote, or a feral cat and visiting with other dogs. I don't leave her much opportunity to actually do any of these things, however.

The other day the new neighbors appeared to be fully moved in, now with dogs. Stumpy can't resist the idea of a new friend.

She's snuck off twice, to go visiting, when my back was turned.

Poor girl, she's on restriction, again.

And she ain't happy.

addendum
Typical of dirtville, we just heard our new neighbors now have 9 puppies... Arizona is a hot bed of raging parvo and distemper epidemics. I asked the new neighbor if her dogs vaccinations were UTD. Silly me. What was I thinking? We don't vaccinate or spay/neuter dogs in dirtville...

Oh sheesh, what is wrong with those stupid humans! Guess this time Stumpy is best kept on restriction. Let's just hope the neighbors dogs get the same rules.

Stumpy, stay away from that trashy trailer next door. You just never know what virus those new neighbors might be carrying. Darnit, new friends would have been nice!

Oh Stumpy! I can see those nine little puppies, all over the neighborhood, and it makes me feel so sad. Maybe its time for that trip back east!

Oy! There is little that is more disruptive to domestic tranquility than bad neighbors. Maybe they'll move on soon. Meantime, can you build, say, a 6 foot stone wall between you?

bbes tribe, it's just not a safe world for dogs to run loose!

Brenda, I jusst don't get how people can't/won't take responsiblity for those they love.

Jan, We need an enforcer!

OP Pack, I'm telling her all day long, that her restriction is in her best interest. I don't think she gets it, though!

Carey, Stumpy is so excited to have 4-legged neighbors. I'm bummed they won't be able to play :(

Gizmo, Bart and Ruby, The stooopid is everywhere!

Hi Phyllis!

Ruthie, I'm protecting Stumpy to the best of my ability!

Lorenza, Good advice!

Stella, I'm really afraid for those puppies!

Jed and Abby, the (not so) funny thing is these are the best neighbors we've had in the three years we've been here!

Roo, dirtville's collective IQ does not seem to be very impressive. Drugs and alcohol has taken it's toll.

Sugar, A bubble would help with regard to safety. Have the BEST weekend!

Happy, Waggin' Tails, FUREVER!

Poor, Stumpster! I know your pain. I got put on a tether earlier this week for the same antics. They just don't understand that we are securing the perimeter. Shesh.

Hopefully you and Stumpy can (tactfully) educate the new neighbors.

I was going to say that maybe these neighbors won't last long, but then I read your comment that they are the best of the recent bunch. Maybe you can gently educate them.

My neighbors wonder why I bought this much land and yet the dogs are never off leash unless I am by their side or they are in a fenced area. Everyone else lets their dogs run wherever they please, including into my yard.
First of all - who wants my 10 elephant size dogs stampeding over to visit them? And if one goes there are sure to be at least 3 others along, usually more.
Secondly - I can not afford the $$ or stress of any dog (mine or theirs) running into the road, regardless of posted speed limit, always ignored, especially by several ton trucks.

Time will tell whether this is a one time breeding or they are the type that feels it is a legitimate way of getting extra cash.
Good breeders know you don't make money by breeding.

Stump, if you slip up a little, maybe you'll get more of those hot dog reminders.
