I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Finally, WATER!!!

Stumpy and I stopped and explored the Texas Hill Country. We stayed in Wimberly Texas and spent a lot of time on the Blanco River.

Stumpy was thrilled to be swimming, again.

We're not in dirtville, anymore!

Can I go in, yet?

You have my ball, right?

I'm ready! Let's go!

What're you waiting for?

Got it!

C'mon! C'mon! Hurry up! throw it again!
After a swim

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

CRASH!!!

The Texan Sky

In Wimberly, Texas Stumpy met Sky.

Sky was dumped at the shelter after being used as a puppy mill breeder until she was 7 years old.

She was brought home, as a foster, 5 weeks ago. Her foster mom and dad fell in love and they're now officially foster failures.

Sky has adjusted to the good life (she's a full-timin' road-dawg, too) amazingly quickly and well. Stumpy was the first dog she's met that she showed signs of wanting to play. Although, she was a little shy with people, she warmed up quickly to belly rubs.

Sky even wanted to check out Stumpy's digs.

Friends in Truth or Consequences

Stumpy spent six days in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Our first morning, there at the Elephant Butte Campground, we met Lucy. A lovely cracker of a girl with Wheaton terrier and standard poodle parentage.

We met Lucy again at the RV park in Truth or Consequences, proper.

I know Stumpy was surprised when one of her best friends, from dirtville arrived!
Snickers!
.
Snickers and Stumpy shared and enjoyed many activities, together, over the next few days.

They relaxed with their bones ...

Schmoozed in Snickers' palace, on the couch ...

Talked smack about the neighborhood cats

And enjoyed many walks together, along the Rio Grande.
Poor Stumpy. She was not allowed to swim. It was just a little too cold for her chihuahua-self and I didn't want wet dog on my bed.

Stumpy has directed me to drive her to a river front property in Texas, next.

I Spy Sunday (#2)

DEER! Lots of them!

There were bucks,

does,

fawns,

and does with fawns

The campground owner fed them twice a day and their visits provided Stumpy with hours of stimulation.
