I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Stumpy gets around

She's been casino camping, in Tucson
BORING!!!

There were interesting walks, though.

Camped on the shore of the Rio Grande River, in New Mexico

The Rio Grande wasn't so grand at this place. The locals advised Stumpy not swim, here.

We met Snickers, again, in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

Stumpy would like to move in to Snickers' palatial 5th wheel (there are couches to schmooze on)

and people that spoil her rotten (more rotten)

We enjoyed walks on the Rio Grande at least once a day

Where to next, Stumpy?

Maybe you'd like to stay with Snickers and hang out on that comfy couch

So many laps, so little time

As a founding member of the Dome Rock Pack,Stumpy had many responsibilities at the RTR. The one that kept her busiest was the never ending Lap Tests.

Johnny scored a five out of five kitties for being the most accommodating.

This vote was unanimously agreed upon, by the entire pack.

Of course, a lap and a smile is a wonderful thing. Bryce scored extra points for his smile.

Kat's Lap scored very high in all categories!

Bryce's lap was rechecked, frequently.

Tish's lap passed muster.

Stumpy was extra squirmy while checking Brian's lap. In the end, Brian passed, too.

Mike's lap was a little on the bony side

But, with some adjustments, he passed with flying colors!

Fenway was there to learn the finer points of the Lap Test.

Jenn must have a great lap because Stumpy kept going back for more.

Joanne, a lap Stumpy knows well, passed without a problem!
Stumpy bestows kisses and bonus points on those really nice laps! Meaning the ones that belong to humans who let her get away with everything.
Not mentioning any names, but...

Stumpy found Linda's lap especially comfortable, at the fire

Stumpy wasn't the only dog testing laps.

Tony is an expert, when it comes to finding a good lap

Stella is also an accomplished lap tester

Fenway doesn't have any mad lap testing skillz, but he does know how to suck up!

Because his boy always made sure Fenway knew he was lovable.
That's MY boy!!!
Love and miss you, Will! (you, too, Fenway!)

The Dome Rock Pack: Bigger and better than ever!

I'm a slacker! I didn't get pictures of all the new pups in the pack. There were so many pups! It was sooooo much fun!

Of course, with each new member's arrival, the butt sniffing circle game occurred.

Pack members of high standing, such as Stella, Rain and Stumpy (notice they are all bitches) take the opportunity to approve or disapprove a membership.

New pack members include:
Fenway who was forcibly abducted from his home and forced to spend about 6 weeks in the wilds of Arizona.

Fenway was given the once over by Rain and Zeke

Zeke, joined the pack this past summer, at the RTR held in the high Sierras

Arlo joined the pack and hails from dirtville. Stumpy and Arlo have know each other for a while.

Candy is an awesome addition to the pack. We needed a sibe!

Cassidy was not very well socialized, but managed to get along with a couple of the other pack members

Cody, a working Brittany spaniel was welcomed into the pack after being initiated by Rain

Louis, recently rescued from death row, could have been Rain's long lost twin brother. He arrived at the RTR scared and confused. It wasn't long before he came out of his shell. Sooooo awesome to watch him bloom among the other dogs and dog-loving people.

Savannah also joined the pack over the summer.

Thorn gained acceptance after Fenway checked him out

Layla was a great addition to the pack! Full of fun and GO! GO! GO! She cracked us up by escaping her owner's tent every morning (no matter what he did to prevent her escape) and joining us for coffee.

Mutt, the Wander Dog is an Original returning member. Mutt was present at the pre RTR meeting in the fall of 2010.

Sari made the scene!

Katie, a beautiful girl of unknown origin, was quite a bit of fun. She's the kind of girl that was willing to take on any of those bitches who thought they were in charge!

Snickers arrived late also. she's a friend of Stumpy's from dirtville, too.

I'm sorry to say I didn't get pictures of Bruce the Bulldog; Squid, a chihuahua puppy or Riley, a sheltie who's partner blogs at Travels with Riley.

Since I arrived late to the RTR, this year I am sure I missed a number of other new pack members. Nobody is sorrier about that than me.
