Kuzzin' Booker went to the National Briard Specialty in Kentucky last week. Before he left Stumpy showed how cattle dogs do it (or don't as the case may be).
I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.
For me they are the role model for being alive.

Dinner at Kuzzin Molly's and Kuzzin Moe's
Uncle Mike made ribs and they sure were good!
I just want all our bloggie pals to know we are catching up when ever we can! I can read most posts when I am home but I can't always see pictures or comment and I can about never watch videos. Today I am at Starbucks, again, but not for long because the sun is coming out and Stumpy and I have our priorities! We must get to the lake! It's been too darned nice out to sit in Starbucks! We'll be home in dirtville all to soon and we'll for sure get all caught up, then!

Bring Your Own Frog: A frog jumping contest!
Stumpy's been doing plenty of frog hunting since we've been home. She thought she could win this, easily.
We headed over to one of our local frog ponds.
And saw the biggest frog EVAH!
Stumpy had the beast under control in no time!
Stumpy thinks she's got this one in the bag

The Berner Report: September 13, 2010
Alf's mom, Dorothea, has emailed me a few times since I left dirtville. Due to my lack of internet, I didn't receive them until Monday 9/13. She included a lot of pictures, too :)
Alf's mom writes:
"...Alfy is doing terrific. He is the apple of our eye. Sophie
adores him, and he is the first dog we have ever had that actually
retrieves his toys. He loves to empty his toy basket. I am constantly
picking up, and as soon as I'm done he empties it again. It is too
cute.
He follows me everywhere, loves to ride in the car, and go for
walks in the park. He loves children and has made a whole bunch of new
doggie friends. His training continues, and he does very well
He loves Brandy and Alan. You can't wipe the smile off his face when they
walk through the door.
The kennel stressed him incredibly, so I broke
it down and back in the garage it went. He does fine inside, except
for throwing all the pillows on the ground and scratching a bit of the
laundry room door. Just a bit of anxiety, that will pass.
I let him roam around free with Sophie and he is fine. Never had another
accident in the house. So curious about everything, it is adorable. He
tries to entice Sophie to play the way Stumpy used to do him. He loves
to go for walks. He is healthy, happy, and loved.
I'll never be able to thank Dorothea and her family for opening their hearts and home to Alf and providing a REALLY perfect environment for him to live and love forever! This really is a dream come true!
The Berner (now known as Alphonso Bernard Jacob Scout Billy Bob Berner)is/was a semi-feral dog trying to survive in the Mohave Desert.
He has a family of his own, now, and is living. well-loved and happily ever after, in sunny, SoCal.
If you're a new visitor to our blog, the Berner's story can be read in the posts listed below, in chronological order. Updates are posted on Saturday.

Hairyfunballz and the Nordude!
We met up with Norwood, his blog assistant and Fun Aunt Dee on Saturday!
Norwood brought gifts from himself and Tula!
Stumpy likes to make sure that all dogs know she can take care of herself. Norwood was good with that and as soon as the introductions were made they were off and running, or swimming as the case may be.
Norwood was kind enough to take us on a tour of his territory which included the frog pond,
river trail and fields.
They ran around just like crazy cattle dogs should
And we managed to get them to sit still for a couple of photo opps
Norwood is just as much fun as you might imagine and we're definitely heading back up to visit, again, while we're here! I hope we get to meet Norwood's kuzzin Tula, too!
Thanks for the edibles, Norwood and Tula!

BFF Baxter’s Pool Party With Surprise Guests!
Last Friday we went over to the home of Stumpy’s BFF Baxter. We were invited for some pool side fun.
Stumpy, of course, was all about the swimming.
Baxter doesn’t like swimming much, but enjoys the company of his friends which, on this day, included two frogs.
Spot, is a rather large bullfrog.
And Fred, a smaller version of Spot.
Fred enjoyed playing tag with Baxter and even allowed Baxter to kiss him a few times.
Spot was pretty friendly, too. He allowed me to pick him up a couple of times
He enjoyed some skritches
And relaxed in the sun while sitting next to me
And then we introduced Spot and Stumpy
Poor Spot. Stumpy was all done with playing ball for the day. She was instantly obsessed in true cattle dog fashion.
This was actually 2 weeks ago. Our internet time is limited. I'm sitting in Starbucks, at the moment, and hope to schedule a couple more blog posts: More fun with Baxter, another visit with Booker and meeting up with the Nordude! We're having too much fun!
