I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

It's raining!!!!

Yes, it has rained out here in dirtville, a few times. We are in our monsoon season. Monsoons have more to do with wind direction (they blow in every direction) as opposed to precipitation. Sometimes a monsoon is a big, nasty dust storm.

However, we have had some rain and some glorious thunder and lightning.

The last two times, after the REAL (you know, drops of water) it rained ant-like critters. And for some reason, they swarm over my deck making it no fun to sit out and enjoy the cool, clean, morning air.

I really resent these critters, not only do they make it impossible to enjoy my deck but it seems they "hook-up" mid air and fall to the deck doing the dirty. Millions of them. An ant orgy on my deck??? Who needs that?

The joys of living in dirtville!

How can you go for a walk in that ant orgy nonsense. I've never seen such a thing. Do you wear an antcoat or use an antbrella?

That is so sad. Tell those little critters to go to someone else's deck..

Raining ants, wow, you can keep those!

Mom says thanks for the birthday wishes. She just hopes you don't send any of those ants as a gift.

Khyra, yes, we love the rain...the ant orgy? not so much!

Tula, we are saving the best desert inhabitants for a later post. (hint: herds of tarantula)

Norwood, an umbrella works, for what's falling out of the sky...not so much for what is doing you know what on the deck. Don't worry! birthday ants for Mom. If i come across a black widow, rattle snake, tarantula or a scorpian, do you think she'd be interested?

Heelers, Stumpy is a bug hunter extraordinaire but that many at one time freak her out. she did try to chase them off the deck in the beginning, but they were too busy and din't pay attention. Then we were overwhelmed and had to flee.

T, maybe no rain is better than raining ants? I am thinking you're in the lone star state/ok region. I have heard so much about the horse, cattle and hay issues due to the lack of rain... I'm hoping you see some rain soon!!!

As a dirt road dweller, I can attest to the clinging power these little buggers possess when they encounter window screens. Takes a week to get them out!
