I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Waiting patiently

When I am in the kitchen, Stumpy waits patiently (or not) in the next room;
for as long as she can stand it.

She inches forward when I am not looking. If I turn to look at her she sits, looking innocent and waiting expectantly.

As long as she doesn't get too close, I don't mind.

Sorry Stumpy, you can't have one of these oatmeal-raisin whoopie pies with a cream cheese centers. They have raisins!

Here! Have a pig's ear, instead! <----I don't kow where this link came from and I've spent about an hour trying to get rid of it!

She does get called in to wash the floor, frequently, when I'm the kitchen!

Stumpy's never too busy to help out, when I need her!

Stumpy, you're such a good girl to help out your Mom like that! Have you heard anything about Alf lately? I was just wondering about him this morning.

yummers - Mom says she will have one of those whoopie pies, please:) Phantom has taken up a new habit after dinner. He doesn't eat all day but once it hits 7:00 at night, he sits and stares at Mom and Dad until one of them gets up and gives him a treat. If they don't pay attention to him, he paws at them. Naughty boy, but they seem to be indulging him.

Elyse, Stumpy wears many hats in this house. No recent news on Alf... I keep hoping for an update. I have called and emailed, but don't want to be pushy. Thanks for asking!

Stella, we're fortunate Stumpy doesn't have to watch her carbs, although she doesn't get much in the way of people food...

Carey, Stumpy wouldn't appreciate me sharing her pigs ears!

Jan, we have to choose our battles!

Wyatt, I made those for a friend. He called at 5am this morning wanting to invest in a cookie business.

Heelers, Wabbit trained Stumpy to stay out of the kitchen. If something fell on the floor it had his name on it, OR ELSE!

OP Pack, anything with cream cheese works for me! Ok anything with cheese, who am I trying to kid? I wouldn't win in a contest of wills with Phantom, either!

Good job helping out, Stumpy!

I've never had a pigs ear. Can you believe it? They sure do looks delicious though. Maybe even better than that whoopie pie. Maybe.

Ah, kitchen duty. One of our favorite chores. Mama is wonderfully clumbsy in her dotage.

Well, we meant "clumsy." We just can't spell. Or type.

Mayzie, no pig's ears? That could be considered neglect!

Phyllis, a little too cute, quite frequently.

Tula, I'm working on whoopie pies for dogs. Stabilizing the cream chees, without preservatives, is holding me back. Pig's ears will have to do in the meantime!

Jed and Abby, I kind of like "clumbsy." I don't know how cooks without dogs manage. What do they do wash the floor everytime they cook?

Hi there! I just found your blog via The Adventures of an Australian Cattle Dog. When we adopted Shiva from the SPCA they told us she was a cattle dog mix. I'm pretty skeptical about this for a number of reasons but I have also done a ton of research into the breed as a result. I'm in love.

Stumpy is gorgeous. I can't wait to read more about her adventures.

Whoopie pies? or Whoppie pies??? What a hoot!
Stumpy, I believe you offer a great service in cleaning the floor. Think of all the Lysol or Swifters that mom is saving, much less the back breaking mopping.

Brenda, and there you have the reason why I decided the 5 second rule does not and should never apply to dogs!
