I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

And now, back to our regulary scheduled programming...

Thanks, everyone, for your patience with me. I wanted to spend a few days beating myself up over my carelessness. I knew you all would be hugely supportive and understanding. I didn't want to hear it. I was stupid and careless. I hate to think the berner will pay the price for that.

As I said, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Stumpy loves to graze but desert living doesn't really support that endeavor. We had to go to town this week and while there Stumpy found a patch of grass and dove in.

The berner has returned daily, even twice a day, to eat and drink. He even walked through the inside door. I was ready for him, behind the door. But he was ready for me and checked behind the door before proceeding into the house. I was busted and he bolted. He hasn't attempted to come through the door again.

Can you entice him in with something he can't resist? I'm glad Stumpy got a little grass btw. All dogs enjoy a good graze.

I'm glad you're back. I felt really bad when I read your last post. Don't beat yourself up too much - you're doing so much more than most would for this dog. I hope it clicks and he realizes that coming inside is a good thing.

Man, I worried about you. I even asked 3 Happy Heeler's mom about you... I cried and died with you. I am excited he comes back for lunch - and to check on you. My hopes for you both! Thanks for coming back.

Khyra, thanks. I still hope to win him over.

Sandra, we are doing just that. Only problem is keeping Stumpy from getting to it first.

Sam, I am still so mad at myself. the truth is I am just not set up here,to do things properly. Still...

Brenda, sorry to worry you. I am happy to see him coming back to eat, too. At the very least I hope he puts some weight on.

Sure glad you and Stumpy got to check out the grass in town. We bet she really like the ride. We sure do. All mom has to do is open the closet door and we are ready...
Give the Berner some time we are sure he will begin to trust you in no time...

Heelers, Stumpy LOVES to go for a ride!

Wizz, I let her graze to her hearts content. It could be awhile before we see grass again.
