I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Where's Stumpy been?

Work (that I don't get paid for) has been kicking my butt, 7 days a week for 2 months now.

On top of that, new neighbors, the kind you dread, moved next door 2 months ago. There's eight people in two small trailers and six dogs running loose all the time. Stumpy is afraid to leave the deck because the dogs see her in the yard and mob her. These people have no idea what a trash can is used for and one of the trailers has no septic...So yeah, I get to watch them from my deck relieving themselves and their trash blowing through my yard. Not fun!!! Their dogs are outside dogs and seem to sleep all day and bark all night. It's just awful!!! And yes, I have called animal control, the health department and the zoning board. The other "neighbors" have also called. Sooner or later they well be removed, but until then ...AAARGGGGHHH!!!!

On to other things. You may or may not recall that one of my responsibilities is the running of a thrift store. It's a good thing I am not a shopper. However, I do have a weakness for things that I know Stumpy will love. With the colder temperatures, Stumpy is enjoying my most recent purchase.

The chair is cushy. Stumpy is all about comfort. It also provides a bit of a wind break.

It's also the perfect spot for coyote spying. You can have your seasonal frogs, Norwood. Stumpy is into coyotes.

The picture at the top is an action shot, only I didn't get much action.

I love the chair! I wonder if Marge would enjoy sleeping in something like that. Too bad about the neighbors. That really stinks.

Is Stumpy a Chihuahua/Heeler mix? I have a feeling like I should know this, but since I haven't been following long, I'm not sure!

We have a bad neighbor like that. We sure are sorry about your bad neighbors. My name is Sally Ann, and I am an almost three year old welsh terrier.

STumpy...
I love your lil coyote watching nest.. you look quite comfortable and beautiful in it.. despite the ruckus next door. All you need is a DD. I will say this.. I'll stick with the frogs.. coyotes are too high on the predator list for me. Tell mom to take a break once in a while please

I've been absent too, but yours sounds more dramatic than mine. Nothing like bad neighbors to ruin your life. That is one fine chair Stumpy.

Sam, stumpy is a heeler/minpin mix, but acts like a chihuahua. She has 5 or 6 chihuahua cuzzinz, so I call her a chihuahua to shame and embarrass her and so her cuzzinz will like her. (neither is working)

Khyra, thanks for the sympathy... the neighbors haven't left yet, but every day before i openmy eyes i hope and pray...

Heelers, that chair offers Stumpy protection from 3 sides...the open side faces the door and she can reach it in a single leap.

Hi Sally Ann, Hi Mack! Thanks for stopping by!!! It's nice to make your acquaintance and we'll be over to visit!

Norwood, three of the visiting coyotes actually come by to play with Stumpy. I think she first met them when she was a puppy. Now she views all coyotes as perspective friends, the smart ones run from her. I wish you could see Stumpy's ears in motion. Well, you know how yours are so you can imagine.

Sandra, I hope you are enjoying that brrrrry cold weather. I hope you do see 60 by Saturday.

Sprite! I am so glad you found us! We are big catahoula fans. It sounds to me that you and
Stumpy have a few things in common (fearful, anxiety ridden, and reactive) check out Tula's and Marge's blog, too.

Tula, my neighbors are pooing all over my yard! It makes me sick that anything I do to correct the situation will potentially cause the dogs more suffering, but they aren't safe living the way they are now, either. heading over to your blog to see what you have going on...
