I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

The Dome Rock Pack reunites at the 6th Annual Rubber Tramp Rendezvous

Stumpy and I left the RTR about a week ago. I admit to feeling pretty lackadaisical these days so pictures are lacking.

We met up with Ivy, again. You may remember that Ivy and her chauffeur traveled cross country in our little caravan.

Yes! That's Snowden, who stayed with us for a few days at Fenway's house, in November.

Most of the original Dome Rock Pack was in attendance. But we've lost several members. Even Stumpy is 9 years old now. She was a three year old pup at her first RTR. That might make her the matriarch!

I'm grateful to Chili Moon's and Savannah Butterscotch's publicist and PR director for a blog post that introduces newer members of the Dome Rock Pack

These are just a few of the dogs in attendance. The RTR was bigger than ever this year and the number of dogs increased accordingly. Amazingly,  I never heard of any serious kerfluffles between dogs. It seems to me that dogs, living on the road, are highly social and very comfortable in constantly fluid situations.

My goal for next years RTR is a group picture with all the dogs.

Return to Dirtville

Stumpy's been hired to keep Snickers, one of her long-time buddies, from dirtville, company for a couple of weeks.

The reunion was a happy one.

They spent hours playing,

patrolling, chasing the locals,

standing guard (or sitting)

and Stumpy's personal favorite: sunbaking

The rest of the day was spent mugging for treats.

They'd stare until their gaze became laser-like, drilling into my subconscious.

They'd tag team me. First one,

then the other

Every afternoon, while waiting for the 5pm oinker Stumpy and Snickers would rumble in the living room. They never failed to amuse

We're headed back to see Kuzzinz Fenway and Teddy for a few days, then ...

Fun at Fenway's

You may remember Rain Barrels from the Dome Rock Pack.

She and her little brother, Snowden, came to visit at Fenway's house.

Things got wild, sides were taken, lines were drawn, fur flew and toys were destroyed (Sorry, Will)

Stumpy stayed out of the melee and appeared to referee the games

And then they all crashed

Before our visit was over Stumpy and Teddy made friends

But, due to my stupidity, They had a little dust up. When we return we'll start from scratch to repair their trust issues.

Friends in Truth or Consequences

Stumpy spent six days in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Our first morning, there at the Elephant Butte Campground, we met Lucy. A lovely cracker of a girl with Wheaton terrier and standard poodle parentage.

We met Lucy again at the RV park in Truth or Consequences, proper.

I know Stumpy was surprised when one of her best friends, from dirtville arrived!
Snickers!
.
Snickers and Stumpy shared and enjoyed many activities, together, over the next few days.

They relaxed with their bones ...

Schmoozed in Snickers' palace, on the couch ...

Talked smack about the neighborhood cats

And enjoyed many walks together, along the Rio Grande.
Poor Stumpy. She was not allowed to swim. It was just a little too cold for her chihuahua-self and I didn't want wet dog on my bed.

Stumpy has directed me to drive her to a river front property in Texas, next.
