I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Baby, it's cold outside

Stumpy and I are usually out the door at first light. Stumpy's usually the first one to the door. I may need some encouragement, but not much since I love the mornings. Sunrise took place at 6:57am. Normally we would have been out around 6:30.

7:22am

"Don't make me!"

At about 7:30, after I take a couple pictures she rousts herself

She just stood there and stared at me as if to say, "If you go out, I'll go out. But, you have to go first."

Then decided it was not yet time, better to just watch from the window

"What? you don't seriously think I am going out in that cold, do you?"

Finally, at 8:10
"I'm ready, now!"

But ONLY because I had put my shoes on.

By the way, at 7:30 the temperature was about 54F. With the winds gusting to about 20mph so the "real feel" was 49F. NOT that cold.

Uh, Stumpy, it's prolly good your job isn't to herd cows. I've heard they have to gets up at like oh-dark-thirty and herd cattles in the SNOW and the wind and in 174 degrees BELOW ZERO! Yep...it's a good thing you're all snug in Dirtville, that's for sure!

Here we are in training for the Fall Back time weekend. I know we can not hold out for the "wait til the temps are above freezing" hours. I am working on wait until the sun rises or you hear the neighborhood school bus pass.

Stump, you are no fool.

Haha, not as cold as New England, as you know ;) Chewy doesn't mind the cold, Lilibell, that's a whole other story. She starts whining 5 minutes after being outside and begs me to pick her up! Chewy loves it, he'll stay outside and freeze his tootsies off romping in the snow if I'd let him!

It has been snowing on and off here. I love the snow but on the morning of the last storm, it was 27F degrees with 50mph wind gusts. A few miles north of us, they called it a blizzard. That's a bit much for me until my shiny winter coat shows up.

You're lucky, your mom has more sense and will go somewhere warm before you have to go through it.

Love the photos. You look so cute once you finally decided to get up!

Stay warm, my friend.

Did you guys get the wind/cold front pass thru? We got it Friday night - all night. DUST galore.
But Saturday was worthy of a jacket/sweatshirt. The best!

Wow - that last pic of Stumpy is mesmerizing! Her eyes are so expressive and mischievous. Our newest and youngest is the one that runs out at first light but is the fastest to get back inside now that the mornings are chillier. So sensitive!
