I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

Stumpy's On a Hunger Strike!

Normally, I can barely get an OK out of my mouth before Stumpy inhales her food. Since Fenway went home, and there's no race to the breakfast/dinner bowl, eating just doesn't seem to be worth the effort.

So guess what little girl? Now you're on restriction, too! No treats, no meaty bones, no pigs ears, no chews until you eat your dinner!

*We go through this, everytime Fenway visits. Not to worry, Stumpy is eating, just not with her usual attitude.

Now Stumpy, no sulking. Your friend will visit again soon and you need to keep your strength up for that.

Annie and Max have been on strike for about a month now. Instead of eating breakfest and dinner they will only eat one of them.

Well, they do say we need less to eat in the warmer months. Mom wishes depriving Phantom of all those treats would make him eat. C'mon, Stumpy, eat or TD and Ciara will come steal it:)

oh stumpy, don't worry, fenway will be back to steal your treats!

That's really interesting Stumpy would have such a reaction to her friend's departure. She clearly really does miss Fenway.

It makes me wonder if my dog's sleepiness these days has anything to do with my husband being out of town...

Who knows?

If it weren't for Mesa, my other two wouldn't eat nearly as much

Hi, Stumpy!
Hmmm.... I never do that. 30 seconds and my food is history! If not... my mom comes into panic attack mode!
Take care

I have not been around for a while. Stumpy wants you to make her food. Grace says it is the best way to get a picky one to eat. But ALWAYS spit out the broccoli and potatoes. Howard says it is a good idea, because he gets to eat the mess left.

I still say she is the cutest dog in the whole world. (Don't tell Howard)

Oh Stumpy, don't be sad :(
I think your Mom is going to put some steak or chicken in that bowl to cheer you up :)

Mango,Stumpy is the queen of sulk. I think she's hoping for an Acedemy award!

Sophie, Thankfully, it doesn't usually take her long to adjust.

Kenny and Angela, amonth of this would drive me crazy!

OP Pack,You can send all 3 over! Stumpy loves a little friendly competition!

Carey, true that!

Kristine, I do believe in doggie depression. it wouldn't surprise me that Shive is mising your AH.

Kari, I really do need another dog. If for no other reason, than Stumpy's sanity. (what the hell kind of sentence is that?)

Wizz, We've noticed. You'd be welcome here, to help Stumpy get over her Fenway-itis.

K9 Katastrophe, Stumpy manages to look cute, no matter what.

Pat, I would, except who'd restrict mine?

Lorenza, I've gotten used to Stumpy going off her feed when she's in a sulk. otherwise I might panic, too.

Sandra!!! xox!!! I used to cook for Stumpy, but quality ingredients are hard to come by in dirtville. PLUS! what's the point when they spit out the veggies, like Grace. and I don't have a Howard to clean up the mess!

Wyatt, I have some steak in the fridge for her, but she can't have it til she eats her dinner. Kind of like dessert.

I love how, after Stumpy checks out her bowl, she gives the air a quick sniff as if to say, "OK, Mom, what else have you got??"

I'd say a picket line is a better way to protest. No food balls.... hmmm that would last 2 minutes here.

I have a puppy here with stomach troubles today. However she thinks that eating every half hour makes her feel better. That also means running outside every hour, so you know I am not getting much done today. (Quit my complaining, it's only been 3 hours so far.)

Stumpy, I love your stretch moves. Such non chalance.

Poor Stumpy Girl... you are lonely for your best bud (besides your mom, of course)... Wonder if Fenway is not eating too???

Mango,Fenway can't return soon enough (for me or for Stumpy!)

Sophie, I think Stumpy believes her hunger strike will reap high value rewards!

Kenny and Angela, I wish I had that kind of will power!

OP Pack, Send Ciara and TD over! Stumpy would love TWO friends to play with!

Carey, Stumpy's not so into the sharing part of guests...

Kristine, I have some great stories of my dogs reacting to changes in their environment. It wouldn't surprise me if Shiva was doing just that.

Khyra, we do! I know some a certain lab and sister, in AZ, that wouldn't mind if you made a detour out this way!

Norwood, I think a picket line would end up being a lot of chewed sticks.

Velcro, She will! She likes her food too much to last too long.

Roo, HA! She has Fenway convinced she is tougher than hm with her paws tied behind her back.

Dogsmom, I hope your puppy is feeling better!

Deb, Not to worry, nothing stops Fenway from eating.
