Alf and Stumpy work, together, to keep our home free from intruders.
Alf tends to take a more relaxed approach, relying on Stumpy to alert him in case of an invasion
Stumpy remains on high alert
While Mr.B goes on break
The cycle repeats itself at dawn

It's a very good thing you and Alf have Stumpy there to watch for and ward off coyotes. Berner can relax cuz he knows he is in good paws.
So- what happens when they see or hear something?

Things will be "different" here for a few weeks but I hope to get back and read/comment when I can. (less computer time for a while)

Norwood, Stumpy has it all under control, including alf and he knows it.
Sandra, I actually miss the coyotes coming around. Every once in awhile I can sneak out without the dogs and enjoy a visit with them.
dogsmom, Oh! I was going toget back to that research today! Stumpy's pretty good, most of the time. She doesn't react unless the yotes come right in the yard. that doesn't usually happen because the yotes have learned to look for the dogs on the deck, I think. The Berner follows Stumpy's lead. Every once in awhile they will chase one across my neighbor/landlord/friend's yard, which ikind of like an extension of our yard.
Great teamwork, but it looks like one pup does a lot more of the work:)

Khyra, that's we we only do coyote watch at dawn and after the sun sets. It's too freaking hot, even for the yotes!
Wyatt, Stumpy wears many different hats when it comes to helping out around here. No free dog bones in this house!
