Hahahahaha!! What great shots! I L-O-V-E this series of photos. I'd say that Stumpy has one great sense of humor.
Now as for that Berner's serious carphobia...... I say use food. Use lots of food. There is nothing wrong with it! My favorites are chicken dogs and chedder cheese =) I'd open both back doors of your Jeep - so he can have an escape route and I'd sure get on one side of that auto, lay across the seat and lure him across the seat with food. Yep... in one side and out the other.
And if that works I'm telling you, I'd get an assistant and have that person close the door he entered once he was in and teach him to exit the open door. I'd build on that behavior until I could add Stumpy as a willing (but only because I'm getting treats,) participant and when he was comfortable I'd jackpot treat him and close the door.
I'm a huge fan of clicker training and not just because I'm huge.
Dogsmom, between Stumpy's face and her ears her she reads like an open book!
Brenda, Stumpy has found all kinds of ways to use the Berner.
WWW, I am not opposed to using food and food has been a large part of any success I have had with Mr.B. Chicken dogs and cheddar cheese are important tools in my arsenal. We continue to wrk on it. It kinda sucks that the heat limits how much we can do. And on days like today, when it's cool enough to be out there doing something, he is gone....grrrr!
Khyra, Stumpy will be happy to know you're backing her up!
Obviously, he enjoys the job of recliner/chair! Stumpy has the most expressive face of any Heeler I've seen! Tell I think she's a charmer!
And I added a photo for today's post! Thanks for noticing!
It is uncanny how you know her every thought.
I agree, Stumpy. You have yourself a new chair. Love how Berner's leg is wrapped around Stumpy, too!
