Each night, Stumpy, the 30 pound Giant Speckled Chihuahua, climbs into my lap, attempts to sit on my head and wants to lie on top on my face. These pictures are taken from that perspective. Stumpy does NOT like the camera flashing in her face.
"GET THAT THING OUTTA MY FACE!"
"OK, you can take one picture, but don't expect any cooperation from here."
"You know, it wouldn't kill you to lit me sit on your head, or lie on top of your face."
"You win... for now... but we will fight this battle again tomorrow night, and the next night and the night after that and..."
We fight this battle every single night and have since she came home to me and became comfortable. When it first started, I didn't want to be to pushy because she was so sensative. Now, she could care less how many times I push her off my head or remove her from my face. The battle lasts anywhere from a half an hour to an hour each night, with breaks to distract her or myelf with her ball or another toy. Finally she settles in for some scritchin'
It's a domination issue, common with heelers, and why so many of them end up in shelters. Of course, it doesn't help that I can't quite get serious, giggle and laugh through out each episode. If I could get serious she might take me seriously.
I'm trying to get a picture of my giantspeckledchihuahua hat face warmer, but it ain't easy.

Mom soooo wishes I'd be a lapdog...
I'm glad woo have one!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
That's a rather large head warmer! She's got your number, but you already know that! I can't say a thing as I have two dogs that own my bed. :)
Flashes are sometimes a bit of a pain, but thats the hazzard of being cool ;-)
Wizz
Stumpy keep trying Mom will figure it out sooner or later..
Mom usually has 3 heeler's by her at night.. Callie usually lays on the cushion behind her, Louie in her lap and me next to her...
Big Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
Stumpy's got the right idea - oversized lapdogs are the best lapdogs! (or facedogs, in this case)
Khyra, snuggles are important in this house! but I wouldn't mind having an aloof sibe to keep me company either!
Sandra, Right! Plus I live in the desert! Who needs a warmer anything?
Wizz, I try to tell Stumpy that, but so far she isn't buying what I am selling.
Heelers, I could handle 3 dogs by my side, or two and one in the lap. the face? Not so much...
Sam, I don't mind a lapdog at all!
Hey there, there is nothing with being a lap dog no matter how big your are!!!
Stumpy..
I'd let you get in my face as much as you want. Just be prepared for some lip action.

LOL!
I can't believe it's 30-60 minutes! Sola does this to me, but she gives up after five minutes. Of course, she is seventy pounds so it's a challenge.
You have one fun dog on your hands. :)
Awww...My heeler isn't cuddly at all. I like to refer to him as my perpetually 5 year old, hyperactive, slightly autistic son. But I love him. One of a kind, like all Heelers!
Oh yea - one lapdog here too. Named Ruger. Neve is not so much a sitting on the lap dog. As for head warming - Well, I just won't let them read this and they won't get any ideas!!!! LOL
