I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me they are the role model for being alive.

wow!! no bells, no whistles, no clickers...

It's very rare that I find another trainer with whom I can totally agree, on methods, theories, whatever. However, Dr. Ian Dunbar is right on. Of course, he only covered three basic ideas, but beyond socialization they are the three most important things I can think of. Now, we can get the dogs to listen to us, but the people??? Give me a rescue or a rehab dog, without an owner, so I don’t have to deal with that.

Someday I will have enough time and motivation to figure out how to embed a video to a post.

Another someday,I will write about Stumpy, aka Jibisek, aka Miss Brat, aka Chihuahua, the dog in the pictures. I am working on it... I don't know how I will ever get down on paper the emotions she brings forth on a daily basis....

He is really entertaining isn't he? I never knew you trained dogs, thats really something. What dogs are the easiest to train do you think?

hey Lilly, thanks for checking back :)

I have found that training a dog for what it is bred to do makes for easy training...my favorite German Shepherds, Airedales and Boxers. easiest dogs to train...hmmm...Standard Poodles, Bernese Mountain dogs? So much depends on other factors, most importantly the dog’s environment as a puppy...and the dog's owners make a huuuuuge difference

and yes, Dr. Dunbar is totally amazing...

I love Dr. Dunbar and what he has done for dogs. And he's so right - you can tell people what to do to solve a behavior problem, but so many of them just won't do it.
